£70,216 - £76,094 (including shift allowance, Distant Islands Allowance and a market supplement and retention payment for the first three years)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Marine Superintendent – Ferry Services.

You must possess a minimum of a STCW Master/Chief Officer certificate or Navigational Officer of the Watch with extensive knowledge and sea going experience of Ferries operations. A good working knowledge of the ISM code and associated Safety Management Systems and the ability to lead and line manage sea going staff and teams, and operational shore staff, are essential.

The duties will include all management aspects of internal ferry operations within Orkney and shared responsibility for the safe, effective and efficient operations of Orkney Ferries Limited.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
