Travel Updates
There are multiple travel updates for our services.
  • We regret to advise customers that after further investigation of the reported engine issues on the Hoy Head, repairs are now anticipated to take an additional week with an expected return to service by the 22nd December.

    This means that the Thorsvoe will be in service for an additional week and capacity will be reduced.

    We have contacted all passengers whose bookings have been affected by the change in vessel.

    Bookings for the week commencing 15th December are open for online and over the phone bookings and we recommend those travelling with a vehicle to book in advance.

  • We would like to advise that the Nordic Sea will be providing a foot passenger service to Eday Sanday and Stronsay over the winter months.

    The timetable is available here or in our Kirkwall Office, and can be booked online or over the phone.

    This service will run from Monday 20th October to Saturday 28th December.

  • Please be advised that current forecasts indicate the possibility of disruption across all of our services from the afternoon of Tuesday 9th December through to the morning of Thursday 11th December.

  • We regret to advise customers that all sailings on the Nordic Sea on Wednesday 10th of December are also cancelled.

    This is due to forecasted weather and tidal conditions

  • The last sailing of the day will depart Tingwall at 16:05 and terminate in Rousay at 16:35.

    Due to the forecasted weather conditions, the 17:30 to Tingwall and 18:00 to Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre are all cancelled.

    The 15:20 Rousay to Wyre sailing in now under review with a high possibility of cancellation.

  • We regret to advise customers that all sailings between Pierowall and Papa Westray on Wednesday 10th December have been cancelled.

    This is due to forecasted weather conditions.

  • The 07:20 Kirkwall to Westray sailing remains under review with a decision being made in the morning.

    The 16:20 departure from Kirkwall to Westray and subsequent return has been cancelled due forecasted weather conditions.

  • We regret to advise passengers that the 07:40 departure from Kirkwall to Sanday and its subsequent return has been cancelled due to forecasted weather conditions.

    The 15:20 departure from Kirkwall to Sanday remains under review with a decision being made tomorrow.

  • We regret to advise passengers that the 07:00 departure from Kirkwall to Stronsay and Eday has been cancelled due the latest forecasts of adverse weather conditions.

    The 15:00 departure from Kirkwall to Eday and Stronsay is under review with a decision being made in the morning.

  • We would like to advise customers that tomorrow’s 07:30 sailing to Kirkwall and the subsequent 08:15 return have been cancelled.

    All other sailings tomorrow are under review.

    This is due to forecasted weather conditions.

  • We regret to advise passengers that ALL sailings on the above service have been cancelled
